The Last Faith

The Last Faith adapts Bloodborne's aesthetics and world-building to a metroidvania just as Blasphemous did with the Souls series four years earlier. Rare is the game that skirts the line of plagiarism this brazenly. When The Last Faith is not ripping a mechanic straight from Bloodborne or wringing the same Lovecraftian sources dry, it's coming to the same conclusions as Blasphemous if not ripping it outright. And yet I got my fix. Every cosmically-horrific boss gave me chills and a satisfying challenge. I soaked up the dripping, gothic atmosphere, and I relished piecing together the story and lore from bits of cryptic dialogue and text.
