I recommend the game BrebeMan, a nugget of originality in a tired sea of action games. I can tell nobody has played it; I ranked #13 in the world for the hardest level just by finishing it. The technology of music informs the charming, collage-like visuals, and each level's soundtrack is a taste of one of many genres of sampled, electronic music. Despite this misdirection, and except for the idea of lanes in the game-space, BrebeMan is nothing like rhythm game. The principles of a good shoot-em-up are in its genes, but the end result is totally unique.
